Founded in 1977, the Cleveland Hometown Association in Israel consists of over 600 families and individuals who have made aliyah from Cleveland, Ohio.

The purpose of the Hometown Association is to provide a support network for Clevelanders living in Israel and those who are preparing to make aliyah from Cleveland.

CHAI permits communication between the Clevelanders in Israel and also with their VCI supporters in Cleveland. CHAI programs are dedicated to the memory of Daniel Haas, former Clevelander, who lost his life in 1982 while serving with the IDF in the "Peace for the Galilee" campaign in Lebanon.
